Well I spend many late nights at the office, and I really wanted a lappy, so I got one to entertain me and for work purposes. I was browsing through Staple's and saw this: CSB Dell XPS 1330M Giveaway! * Congrats to our winner!!*
Not bad, a 13'' screen, HDMI output, 2GB's of RAM, Core2Duo, and weighing in at under 4 lbs. Only downside is Vista. I spent 4 hours tweaking the first night I had it and other than the automatic updates getting caught in a loop it's usable after the bloat has been disabled. I did hunt down the XP drivers just in case I needed to go that route, there's an XP thread just for this PC lol. All in all it's a nice piece of kit, I primarily run Winamp on it and listen to music at work while doing paperwork with the milkdrops going.

Nice LS. Dell makes fairly good laptops. I have had mine for quite a few years now and it still works fine. Wish i had more of a use for the thing though. I use it when i travel to do my work, but at home i rarely have a need for it because the desktop is just faster.

You just answered your question
"Dual core". It will play 720p, but 1080 is pushing it, but playable. Depending on what codec.

Aight thanks Kam! It's a Core2Duo, not a crappy Pentium D, so 720 should be okay.

Well it wasn't hard in my case, there's a couple threads dedicated to it with links to all the drivers: How to install Windows XP on the Dell XPS m1330 - Step by Step instructions
There's another somewhere which covers the same procedure, so no great accomplishment lol. I actually decided to stick with Vista for now, it's fairly responsive and works okay with all the crap tweaked out. I ordered 2x2GB's of RAM to max out my RAM. It probably won't make a huge difference with a 32 bit OS, but any performance boost is worthwhile imo.
