Post count

Is the post count gone for good? I was hoping it was just a glitch that was being worked on. Oh well....I had somewhere in the 600's. It was just nice to look at once in a while.

If you look on your profile page they are still there, I like that they are not on the forum. I just don't think the number of posts that someone has matters, just there longevity and experience.

I kinda liked it too, but this site doesn't tolerate people artificially inflated post counts or bs info, I don't ever recall the staff giving bad advice on anything honestly. Same goes for most of our regulars, so post count be damned lol.

I usually trust people that can type properly. If I see someone giving advice like, "den go 2 da menu and select da arrow, l8er after dat...." I wouldn't even bother, lol.

Aaaarggghhhh!!! - I am with you on the one Kam, I hate text speak, it's so annoying and to be honest unless you do it 24/7 it must be quicker to type out the proper words than to think what the "shortened" version is.. it sure takes me longer to work out what they are trying to say sometimes.. so yeah I don't bother reading them generally either
If someone can't be bothered to write out a question properly, why should they expect a proper answer, lol

It's almost always people sixteen and under that do it too. Nothing against teenagers, but it's friggin annoying as hell.

post count is irrelevant to the knowledge of the person really. It's more of a insecurity thing i think...people don't trust others that don't seem to look like they've been around the block a few times.

I agree with punq in many ways - you only have to look at AD for instance, there were tons of people posting any old crap to up their post counts and some of them got from newbie to addict in around a month or 2.. didn't mean that they knew anything, just that they posted a lot.. and generally useless advice was the norm.... I'm not bagging AD, just saying that it's another reason I don't visit there much anymore.
