*OFFICIAL* New XS Request/Idea Thread

Just talk about things you'd like to see on XS. Things you'd lke to keep, etc, etc...

The change coming is more than just the template, everything will be removed except for the members and threads. It's a fresh start...features will be strategically added to the community with your help.

Have at it!

X-S Board Awards... As I outlined in another thread:

Quote:
Xtreme-Source Board Awards
Another site I frequent recently had a site board awards. It was kinda interesing, I won for best avatar lol. It got me thinking, it would be a cool way to recognize some of our best contributors and hardest workers. We could say thanks to the our members and give some recognition to people that really take the time to contribute here. I was thinking that we could have a bunch of preset categories such as:

Most Valuable Poster:

Most Valuable Staff Member:

PC Hardware Guru:

Coding Guru:

Console System Guru:

DVD-Guru:

Photoshop Guru:

Most Outspoken:

Best Tutorial Author:

Best Sense of Humor:

Best Graphic Artist:

X-S Staff Choice Award:

Gentleman Poster Award:

As far as nominations, I was thinking the staff could nominate two or three people per category or we could open it up to members and take the two or three people who get the most nominations and make them the candidates to receive the award for that category.

Send a message via AIM to .:MAG:. Send a message via MSN to .:MAG:.

I'd like to have the pager system back (don't remember why it went away...). That way we can communicate here, and then I don't have to open up Trillian and have 40+ strangers (kids) trying to talk to me

If there was an issue with it, forget what I said.

It was because it was buggy as crap working with vB. Sometimes the messages wouldn't get picked up til hours later, or viewed at all. Sometimes a page would lag until the stupid beeper message came up.

I will, and I would like it if you all could as well...search sites for ways of communicating. I think sites that offer tech support would be good ways to go. Usually, they have great SMS type applications that work great.

I agree, we need a way to communicate to one another that isn't buggy. I guess chat rooms are overrated so we need something more innovative. Unfortunately, the Pager system and the shoutbox proved extremely buggy...we do need a solution for their absence.

I like the board awards too. Only bad thing would be lack of active members...and the results being the same people over and over again selected. I think in time, something of it's kind will be a good plus though...

Eh I don't mind that so much. Even if it's the same couple people winning, it's still cool. We can't worry about the number of active members when doing contest ideas imo. But if there's a better contest idea, that's all good.

let say you have that contest then what? i think that contest is good for about a week then people would stop voting/participating. i vote to have a better more interactive self page, a page we control what is there, and not given to us in a preset format. (example :birthday and join date)
