90% of all Zelda games were good, that is impressive considering how many exist. I don't think Zelda is overrated at all.

I agree completely. Zelda is an awesome franchise, the only lame title was that 4 player version that was released awhile go.

I picked Zelda out of those listed. I wouldn't go as far as to say that 90% of the franchise was good, but 3 of them left lasting impressions on me. I worshiped Zelda 1 as a kid. Zelda 2 lost me. I thought "A Link to the Past" on the SNES was excellent and it consumed almost as many hours, if not more. As did Ocarina of Time, which blew me away compared to other games of its time. But that is where I stopped. Don't ask me about any of the Gameboy or Gamecube versions. I've never held onto a franchise for that long. Which is why I guess Zelda stands out in my mind as the most fun. The puzzles were challenging, but not so much that they annoyed and frustrated me. And the worlds were engaging.

I would have to say that the Mario Series is the next franchise that I've enjoyed most.

Then Burnout. I actually started with Revenge, and worked my way back to the first one. Unfortunately, everything after Revenge is just mediocre IMO. It's a different kind of entertainment. It's purely reflexive skill. A welcome change from challenging puzzles.

FPS's - eh...whatever. They have to have a good storyline, and not just some war theme. Because once you play one war FPS, you've played them all. I just tried Conflict, Denied Ops, and it triggered my ADD.

Yeah I agree about first person shooters. Never doubt their fan loyalty though, FPS fans are hardcore. I do like some of them, Halo 3 is fun multi-player. Call of Duty 4 is pretty impressive. Of the old-time war sims, I could actually get into Call of Duty 2.

The Zelda series is good, I never would argue that. I haven't finished a Zelda game since Link to the Past. That game was not hard at all imo, nor was it hard to get all the heart containers. Probably the hardest puzzle in the game was in the fifth dark world dungeon, and you could get around it completely by using the staff of Somaria from the sixth dark world dungeon (I think that's what it was called) to create a block and make it work. I did play through it several times. Ocarina of time was way ahead of its time. The N64's advanced use of 3D textures made it hard for PSX games to compete. Soul Reaver and Tomb Raider are probably not as good as Zelda.

One thing that scares about this day and age are all the mindless casual games. Hardcore RPG's, strategy games, and FPS's may one day be a thing of the past.

I chose the MGS Series. It was one of the first series of games I played. I played MGS1 over and over and I'm still not tired of it. I cannot wait untill MGS4 comes out...whenever that is.

Chose Mario.

However, to this day, Zelda Ocarina of time has to be the game that I've put the most total hours into. Years later I think I can still play the entire game in my head from beginning to end.
