warning: dont let ur 360 fall over!

hey guys,
my old man was sitting on the couch while i was playing GTA IV and when he got up he slipped and knocked over my 360! it came up with a error message that said something like disk error, so i took it out and was shocked to find 3 perfect circle scratches all around the disk. and some gashes a that go against the grain of the disk!! luckily i took out insurance on the disk for $5 when i bought it from EB Games so that it was covered for its lifetime!
i checked the xbox with another game to make sure the laser wasn't damaged (it wasn't) , but what i don't understand is what scratched it? was it the laser??

Nah, this is a very common problem: Xbox 360 Scratches Game Disks

It's well documented by MS, just make sure to never move it while powered on. Always move it while the system is powered off.
