Windows Movie Maker Problem

I just finished a small movie in Windows Movie Maker. I went to save and it kept giving me this error when I try to save it:

"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the video to the specified location. Verfiy that the original source videos are still availble, that the saving location is avaiable and that there is enough free space, then try again."

Ive looked over all of these things and I do have the source videos and tried saving in that folder, the location is avaible and I have more than enough space for this small movie. Please help.

My guess it might be an issue converting the file to the specified format or there's an illegal character in the file name. Try saving it in a different format and make sure there's no strange characters like + / or ^ in the name.

No I mean save it as a different video format. If you're saving it as wmv, try saving it as an avi file or vice versa.

Go to File-->Save Movie File select a destination, then click next. Choose a name and path for your movie, click next. Click the other settings box, and select one of the options from the drop down menu. Try a different setting from the one you're using. Dv-avi is the format you need if this is for a sig in ImageReady or something.

In my opinion, just switch from windows movie maker. Its a pretty horrible program all together, the formats, quality and its kind of screwy. Id recommend you switch over to Vegas Video 7.0 or Adobe Premiere. There much easier programs with many tutorials available. As well the export quality and formats are astounding,

In concern to your problem though, its most likely just buggy. If you really want to continue using W.M.M try copy and pasting your project into a different project. Might work,

I get by okay with it, but it can be finnicky. Everything I import into WMM is in wmv format, it does not like avis on my setup. I do like the ease of use for adding text to vid clips and combining clips. I'm sure there are better third party apps, but for a free program bundled with Windows, it's not too bad.
