Wow they stopped putting ant in/out on things, that cant be good.
In the uk its a big thing with everyone going digital but don't know about the rest of the world...

we have a thing called freeview, (basic free cable) but tbh i can't see any other way of getting a tv signal into the box apart from a cable signal

These are the connections you have (according to toshiba.com)

Quote:
Component Outputs (1)
HDMI™
S-Video Input
S-Video Output
RCA Video Inputs - Rear (1)
RCA Video Outputs - Rear (1)
A/V Inputs (1)
A/V Outputs (1)
Coaxial Outputs (1)
Front DV Input (1)
So basically you'd either have to connect a TV source to the DVD recorder through either:-

RCA
A/V
Sivideo

...... personally I'd think A/V would be the easiest as most TV boxes have an A/V output.

@paddy
I don't have TV boxes, so no A/V output.
THis is how it's connected. ant.out into my TV. Is there a cable that can be ant.out to A/V????

I don't see what the problem is. Are you saying you don't have any source to connect to the DVDR? By source I mean DVD player, DirectTV, cable, etc.

Ahh I see - so basically you're just wanting to connect an analogue TV signal into your DVD recorder. With some models (mine included) this is possible, but with yours it isn't possible I'm sorry to say. The best way around it is to get a set top box (digital TV) and connect that to your DVD recorder.

I suspect that the reason that your DVD recorder hasn't got a coax input is simply because maybe it hasn't got a TV tuner of any kind built in, so basically it's just to record from outside sources... so even if you did find a way to connect your aerial (coax) to the DVD recorder it would be useless as there's no way of choosing a channel to record from.

[edit] - yep I was right, got htis from the toshiba website

You need to buy a TV box of some kind to output from
