The one I have upscale all contents on the DVD, pictures, movies and DVD movies to 1080p. If I use the input to it, it just stays the same.

If you enable upscaling on the Xbox, everything is capable of being upscaled to 720p/1080i. That includes emulators, DVD's and all video formats XBMC supports. There's no way an upscaling DVD player can match that versatility. The upscaling on the Xbox 1 is very good imo. Most all emulators work with upscaling, DVD's and videos all work with it. To enable upscaling on the Xbox 1, you need component cables. eBay is your friend there. There are several kinds of generic component cables for the Xbox 1, but you will possibly get audio feedback or lines in the picture with generic brands. I bought the official MS component cables and there is no audio feedback, and the picture is crystal clear.

I paid about $35 USD for the official MS Component cables on eBay.

think what im really after is a huge wire with all console and compsite wires (or what ever there called i think tv's should loose the worthless scart sockets now and give us more hd sockets

its a pain swapping wii and ps2 over so if i add a xbox also i think i would spent most of my time pluging and unpluging wire in the back, plus breaking back every time i have to do it :P

plus got a hd cable box coming next week

Ah, so you are looking for a switcher box with composite and component support. I don't know too much about them, but I'm sure you can something to fit your needs. Composite is the yellow cable, the blue, green, and red cables are HD component cables.

You can get all kinds of switchers depends on what your looking for. But you want to try to get all of your systems using the same cables if you can. Like at first my Xbox and PS2 were both the stock composite cables as was my DVD player at the time. I had an older TV with only two inputs so i bought a cheap switcher (which now i think i have 2-3 of laying around the house). Once i bought the new big screen the first thing i did was buy the component cables for my Xbox and PS2. Then bought a good switcher from Psyclone. Then i could hook 4 devices with component cables up to it and use just one input on the new TV and also just one audio input on my stereo receiver.Psyclone - Source Selector - PSC01 is like that one. I like the digital display. You can name each device (default on screen is input 1,2,3,4) to what every you like. So mine of course said Xbox, PS2, and DVD.They also make the same thing for HDMI. But since i switched to mostly HDMI devices and bought a new receiver with enough inputs now my Psyclone component switcher is a dust collector to.
