Time for a new Toy

Hey guys, I need advice from some pros on this one. I really want a DS, and have very little knowledge. I do know i need an M3 (whatever that is), a card reader and a flash card of some type. As you can tell by reading that I have no idea what I am talking about.

1.Do I need a certain model DS, certain version?
2.What is the most cost effective combo of things i need to play DS backups as well as GBA roms?
3.Any places you recommend for these?

Sorry for the noob q's. I read a few threads on aD but there was so much conflicting info Im more confused now than before. Thanks guys!

Yeh, boobooman said it all. I used supercard but it wasn't to fitting in style, so I got a Dev kit. With the Dev kit, its a 512mb so you can put alot in there, and also you can hook it directly to your PC and I heard you can play roms off your PC, but I had no luck with that.

Price wise, DS can go from $80-170, dont go for the lite version, nothing special. The Dev kit is about $120+. Roms, yeh, I use emule too. But there are alot of sites out there, just avoid those ads and spyware. I never flashed my DS, so I have no clue on that.

Best combo to go for is a M3 lite, since it dont stick out. And get a used DS from EB games for $80. So total cost would be about $160

to flah it is easy all you need is a prog called flash me (like a rom) and a paper clip but proberly a 2% of brickin it as it need to be shorted

last time i looked there was alot of diff cart out just make sure you dont get a fake one the supercard can take up 2 a 2 gig sd card or you can get a mini sd or a compat flash i would image most people have a sd card foating about these days if not not that much now

and i just love training my brain and the added extra of ffiii this month plus many more

M3 microSD = passcard 3
1 gig micro sd card

Then im good to go right? Boobooman will a 1 gig card work ok, or is it too big?
