Comet backs Wii as Xmas top seller

UK electrical retail giant Comet has backed the Nintendo Wii to be a top seller this Christmas season. They announced their top ten list of the hottest electrical items and the Wii was number one on it.

Quote:
Beating big name brands like Philips and Apple to the top spot will give platform holder Nintendo a significant boost, especially as its new hardware also recently topped PC World’s own list of most-wanted festive items.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is conspicuous by its absence from the top ten. Significantly, Nintendo has already stated that it is confident of decent launch stock on December 8th, when the much-anticipated console launches in Europe at £179.99 with Wii Sports.
