EA and Wii

Hey Guy's read the following ?

EA beat Nintendo at their own game. [Geekpulp]

While Nintendo are busy bringing next to no information about an upcoming version of Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Wii, EA has released a nice, shiny new teaser trailer about a new product called Mii and the Town of Sims, which showcases Mii-like characters in an Animal Crossing scenario. While the teaser shows characters that are very Mii-like in appearance, it’s blindingly obvious that they aren’t the Mii characters Nintendo have available on their new system.

With the release if the Mii Channel, gamers can create simplistic graphical representations of themselves with ease. Nintendo have also allowed developers to incorporate these characters into their own titles as you will see with upcoming titles Wii Sports and Warioware: Smooth Moves. But what are the limitations with such a design? It seems as if there are very few. If the Mii character code states the character is tall and thin with blonde hair and a small goatee, then this is what we’ll be seeing in Mii and the Town of Sims; spruced up characters that enable EA to use Mii data to create characters that suit the created world around them.

How long will it be until a simple “Select Mii” option allows us to see a realistic version of our Mii stepping up to tee off in the next Tiger Woods title for Nintendo Wii?
