Wii ???

Hi Guy's

I have just received some very important information again regarding the Nintendo Wii (as if we did not know) read the following info ?
Something so new and extremly new and innovative, but seem's to be having slight difficultie's ?

Call backs for Nintendo’s Wii already… [Geekpulp]

Nintendo could start a new sporting event: Wii Remote Throwing! Yes, it really is that bad. Nintendo have announced that they will be recalling 3.2 million straps to replace them with better ones. You can read the full report from CNN here.

Nintendo will be doing their best to replace the straps after reports of over-enthusiastic gamers putting holes through their TV sets and doing considerable damage to walls and people made it’s way back to Nintendo. Well, we wanted a more interactive gaming experience and Nintendo did their best to deliver. But like all good things that come to the masses, it looks like there might be a small price to pay for all that fun (although, $2,000.00 plus bucks for an HDTV isn’t cheap by any standards).

Nintendo report that whilst news of the ‘out of control’ Wii remotes is important and they will be doing their best to rectify the situation, sales of the newly released console will not be affected. With Xmas just around the corner, that’s a good thing to hear for consumers.

The Wii might be a fun system, but it seems like Nintendo didn't think some stuff through. Aside from Zelda, the launch lineup seems pretty weak imo. If I wanted a nunchuck, I'd get a nunchuck.Throw in the fact it's not exactly overflowing with horsepower, and I dunno if it'll be more than a niche system. It may in time prove to be a very good system, I haven't personally played one, but from what I've heard, I'm not in any hurry to do so.

The thing with the Wii is the controller. It's just different. I wasn't really interested in a Wii for myself, but thought it would be good for my daughter simply because of the controller. You don't just sit down and mash buttons all the time. You actually get some exercise playing the games. Especially the Wii sports games (Boxing in particular). That was what attracted me to the Wii. My family isn't known for our skinny attributes, so I thought this would be better for the health situation. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't have even thought about the Wii.

Exercise is good for sure, but most people I know don't play video games for exercise, but for escapism. If I wanted to go to the gym, I'd go to the gym. As long as the option to use the normal controller is available it's okay, it's forcing people to use the Nunchunk and motion controller which is a dangerous marketing ploy.
