Wii experience

Here is a little bit from my experience with the Wii. Since my daughter already new she was getting it, I let her open it Thursday morning. I know it's a tad early, but I had my reasons.

She has been playing with her Wii every spare minute she has. We have not had any adverse affects from Christmas decorations or anything to that nature so ours seems to be holding up very well.

The menu isn't all that bad, although it is quite a bit different than other game consoles. The hardest part for me was setting up the wireless to allow for updates and access to the shopping channel and weather channels. The Wii Opera browser was released yesterday and is pretty descent for general browsing, but I found it very tedious when trying to type messages using the virtual keyboard. Although it tries to give keywords for when you start typing, it may take till you only like one letter of completing a word before the smart word list actually has the correct word that you were typing. This version of the browser is also a trial beta version with the full version to be released sometime later.

My little girl seems to love the Wii. She likes playing in the Photo channel making pictures look really funny and the sort and to my surprise she likes the boxing game the best. She still has plenty of stuff to open on Christmas too so she'll be getting a couple more games and an accessory or two. And thanks to Stang, something else of the fun nature as well.

All in all, the Wii makes a pretty good little console. It's not the same style of next-gen like the 360 or the PS3, but it does really well in my opinion. Plus there are some programs out that allows you to use the Wii remote on you computer if you have a blue tooth adapter that will support it. Check out this website for more info on how to do that. I was using the Wii remote as a drumpad and also as a mouse replacement!

Interesting, if I had a child, the Wii might be high on my list too. Glad your daughter likes it.

Same thing here with my cousin; I went to a pc store and he started to play the boxing game on Wii; as time passed by he started to swing the controls so fast that I thought they are going to throw us out, not to mention almost knocking the t\/out.

If you get any hands on with Zelda Sadalius or ridges, post about it please. I haven't seen any hand-on stuff from people I know about the Wii Zelda, interested to see how it works with the wiimote.

I don't have it, but I've heard that it isn't quite what everyone was expecting but good none the less.

I've been trying to get one since the 28th last month for my birthday but no luck yet. None of my local stores do deliveries but I still called them today, I just hope one of the stores has some in stock tommorow because if they do, I will get to the store faster than the speed of light.

Which stores are you guys testing them at? I've been to Target and Best Buy in my area and they still have the display with a stupid rep talking about all of the advanced features of the Wii. The section is always empty, as most people are crowded around the 360 and PS3, and well...every onther console.
