TM's WiiKey Review

So TM has got hold of a Wiikey and as all ways have taken the time to do a full on review, As I have not got hold of TM to ask if its ok to post all the hard work here you can read the full thing HERE

Quote:
WiiKey Postives

- Easy to install, do it via the quicksolder way or with wires.
- No need to flash the chip.
- Chip is well made, very durable.
- Boots Wii & GC backups flawlessly
- Region free (boots imports)
- Compatible with all Wii models.

WiiKey Negatives

- Upgradability for the chip seems a bit limited for the time being.
- Somewhat expensive.

Final Thoughts...

I am going to rate this product using a basic A-F grading system, A being the best and F being the worst.

Ease of install.................A
Quality of chip................A
Booting Backups..............A
Durability........................A
Chip options....................B
Upgradability..................A
Price................................C+

Overall Grade..................A-

To everybody who is thinking about buying this chip, I highly recommend that you do. The Wiikey had me sold from the moment I saw that backup game boot. I highly recommend this chip to everybody who would like to mod out their Wii! Fork over the cash, you wont regret it!

Cool, looks like Evan did a nice review. This is good news for Wii owners, now if there just some worthwhile Wii games outside of Zelda and Wario...

I may give the Wii another chance in a year or 2. All depends on what the next chip can do and if the rumored HDD enters the scene. Wii shall see ;-)

Whats up guys!

Well I was a pretty big fan of this chip, but the new WiiD modchip now has my full attention :-) I'll be doing a review on it here w/in the next few weeks.

Now that I think about it, your right boobooman the quicksolder points didn't line up exactly right, but they are close enough, so I decided not to comment on that part. I guess I'm just so used to using rebuild boards on the Xbox (which don't line up very well) so I haven't paid attention to the slight misalignment.

I have a wiikey that I installed in my Wii and I love it. I just installed one for a friend yesterday and he also likes it a lot! It has played every disc I've put in it!
