Hey guys just a quick question i have my wii chiped with the cyclowiz and everything is going great, So i was wondering a few days ago Nintendo relieced their full webrowser and i wanted to download it but you have to update the machine, So i wanted to ask will this update affect my cyclowiz in anyway?

yes you are fine to update you wii atm, it is needed to be updated for newer games to play ie super paper mario, and no it wont have any affect on your chip whats so ever but just remember it might not all ways be the same, also its best to update from wii internet rather than a game

also the lastest firmware is 2.2 then either n/j/e depending where you are in the world

People I've talked to don't seem to think Nintendo is ever going to close off the hack. There's even an open source modchip project, people can and have created their own chips with a programmer and the right parts. Unlike the 360, it's doubtful Nintendo will ever bother, they put virtually no effort into securing the Wii to begin with.

Well, team-xecuter did publish the plans to make your own 360 modchip, but that has nothing to do with MS's wish to totally obliterate the ability to use backups
