Wii Disc Read Errors

I have a question for the few that have a Wii mod.

I have a few disc that I am getting read errors on the disc. I don't know if this is due to my WiiD chip or due to the burn. I would assume the cause is a bad burn.

I am using TYGO2 which most seem to work but some will not play at all or will play for a while then the read error will come up.

I tried making a copy of the disc with Nero but I get a read error message when Nero tries to copy it. Can you do a direct copy of the game backup disc with Nero?

Also how fast and what program do others use to burn the backups to disc?

Any help would be appreciated since it is a pain starting a game and enjoying it then all of a sudden a read error comes up.

You cant direct copy Wii games, you have to go thru a process to back up the games. Plus you need a special drive to read the games.

Read the tutorial here, and it will tell you which drive is needed to read the backups, http://teammodders.com/forum/how-to-...ump-t4217.html

I switched to IMGBurn and started burning at 2x because I read that if you have allot of DRE to slow the burn down to 2x. Nero doesn't have 2x as a speed for me in the speed list (It only has 4/8/16).

I tried Excite Truck like 3 to 4 times with Nero with no luck. After using IMGBurn set at 2x it burned perfect and played perfect. However I noticed even tho I set the Write Rate in IMGBurn at 2x the write rate during the burning phase says it is still burning at 4x. During the burn phase it says Copy 1 of 1 (2x Write Rate) but under the Write Rate that is actually writing to disc it says it is at 4x. Is there an option in IMGBurn that burns the DVD at a recommended speed and over rides lower speeds? If so how would I deselect that option.

yeah excite tuck is a great game mine works perfert

as for burning speeds most dvd-r wont let you burn as low as2X anymoremost will be 4X whichs is fine thats why nero dont show 2X but imgburn will let you choose whatever speed but will burn at the lowest it can

imgburn will show you the able speeds of burning when you have a blank dvd in your drive

i burn all mine at 4x sometime 8 if im in a rush and they are always fine i havent seen many peeps with the same chip as you so cant say if chip is causeing probs ie incompat media

It is an NTSC ISO download. It will boot up to the first screen and sometimes go past that but then it will DRE when trying to create a game save. I have gotten as far s choosing a team but when i scrolled through the teams to choose I got the disc error screen again.

Do you have the PAL version? Maybe I should try downloading the PAL version and see if that makes a difference.

Are you using the latest version of ImgBurn Larry? In the most recent versions (2.2 and later) you can set the write speed automatically according to Media ID or drive. Click the green icon that looks like a little guy in the bottom right of the program with the disc in the drive containing the media ID you want to set the write speed for, set the write speed and click okay. Whenever you burn that media, it will automatically burn at the speed, I've burned several DL discs with it set to 4x, gets it right every time.
