Time for a new desktop!

Need some advice. Im not willing to build my own desktop, so I am looking for the best deal. I am not into gaming or anything. With that said, is this a good deal?

HP Pavilion a1720n Intel Desktop PC - Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz, 1GB DDR2, 320GB SATA, DL DVD±RW wLightscribe, Flash Reader, 10100 LAN with HP Deskjet F4180 All-In-One Printer at TigerDirect.com

To go with it, this 22" monitor??

Sceptre X22WG 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 2ms, DC2000:1, WSXGA+ 1680x1050, DVI with HDCP, VGA(D-sub), Gloss Black, Built-In Speakers X22WG1080p at TigerDirect.com

Would love some opinions!

Bleh, don't be lazy. Take some time to learn and read to build your own. It'll be twice as powerful as any OEM PC you order, and you'll learn alot in the process. I'm definitely going to build my own, hopefully before the end of the year.

Aint going to happen. Dont care enough. That system is $499.99 with printer (which I need) after rebate, even if I build it myself it wont be much cheaper. Add the 22" monitor and it is less then $1,000 shipped.

Most pre-made ones will do you for everyday work.....and they usually come with a decent warranty too. As long as it has what you need, then there's really no reason not to.

the vid card in that is terrible...you will need to upgrade, at least to a geforce 8 series card (50 to 100 dollars after rebate) otherwise it looks good

Erm, most likely that PC is a refurb. You can probably get something about the same level at Frys, just no shipping cost. But you do have to pay tax. You can build a good PC, for about that price, but since your building a PC, its the way you want it, which can exceed that amount. About $600 max, for a good custom build PC.

And yeah, that video card is crappy. I'll sell you a eVGA GeForce 8800GTX for $450

Too late! Bought it for $437 shipped. Bought the acer 22" monitor for $254 shipped. And you know I dont give a poo about the video card, I dont play computer games.

$691 (yes I counted) is fine, more then I wanted to spend really. Now all I need to do is figure out how to use that monitor as a tv! It is 2 inches bigger then my current tv! What do I need to buy to watch tv on that monitor kam, AR, anybody??

Here is the exact link for it Newegg.com - Acer AL2216Wbd Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor with HDCP support 300 cd/m2 700:1 - Retail
Any help on that would be greatly appreciated

You need a TV tuner. I have one laying around, which I don't use any more.

This is the one I have.
