Long time no see i_suck. I am an Intel person, because well, its advancing faster than AMD, it takes less power than ever before, does not over heat, and of course POWER. AMD is usually cheaper, handles better while overclocking and does overheat. Alot of times, to get a clear result, check out some benchmarking of both CPU to help you see which is good for you.

How can you forget a name like i_suck, LOL

Agree with Kam, benchmark tests are a good indicator. These days it is usually up the user preference. I am an Intel man myself and their Core2Duo processors work great and are easy to overclock. For example you can save your money and buy a 2.13GHz and have it easily running at 2.4GHz with no ill effects or problems. (provided you motherboard allows for overclocking.)

I was told that AMD handles certain types of processes better like graphics programs and such but never having owned one myself i can not confirm that.

pretty sure they have benchmark tests there.

it's kind of like the difference between video card companies....they both make great cards, but each card will have good sections that it's better at where as they will be not so good at others.

You have to figure out what you want to be doing with your machine, and then build/buy it to those specs. So best thing to do is shop around and look at alot of items..cause you never know right?
