I currently have a NEC ND2100-AD DVD+RW DVD burner on my PC. I was recently reading that somehow via firmware you can change this burner to a 2500AD DVD-/+RW burner. I have read a few things about it and it seems fairily simplistic however I have some concerns about what kind of damage can be done to the burner OR PC.......any ideas on the subject?:stupids:

Its only a firmware upgrade, the worst that can go wrong, is you having a dead burner. No effects can occur to your PC. In some cases you can restore a dead drive, but only some.

Sounds like it would just be better to buy a new burner anyway. I was just trying to find a firmware upgrade for my burner since I am having so many problems with my PS2 backups.
