8800GTS vs 880GT

Ok well I was doing some research for my future build and came across these two cards: 880GT KO and the 8800GTS.

I know there are some differences in core clock, memory clock and memory interface (what the heck is that). But the main parts including DirectX 10 and all the nvidia pixel shader, HD tech etc are there in both of them.

My computer will be used for gaming as far as COD3-4, PREY, and any other games I see that I like.

My question is now though would there be a significance difference in performance between the two cards?

8800GT is 30% faster and better than the GTS. I already order 2 8800GT. If you SLi the 8800GT it is faster then the GTX yet $100 cheaper. Brand wise, I would go for the EVGA 8800GT Superclock.

I can't believe there was such a "hype" for the GTX when this seems overall better. When you talk about the superclock is is this?

Yes, thats the one. Im a sucker for XFX brand. But EVGA has the higher end on this one. I was about to buy another XFX Ultra, but this came out and well, I dropped my urges for my second 8800GTX. I'll be seeing you on COD4

basically the only thing that the gts really has over the gt is memory bandwidth. Not enough though to make it worth buying though.

SLi is running 2 exact same core cards. What it does is allow each card to take a task, and split the process time by half. Its a dual core for video card

Thanks for the Pictures Punq. I read a bit up on SLI, I wasn't aware it had to be the exact same card. I thought I read that you could use two different cards, but like dual channel memory, the SLI would run at the speed of the lower card.
