you would think it would have an ID....my lite on reads fine through dvd decrypter....kinda odd. Are there any other options in the drop down? You might be on a virtual drive.

Yeh, its a clone. But it should work fine. Most clone works exactly the same even uses the same firmware, but I wont want to rely on the laser. For example, Emprex and Sony, Emprex are clone from Sony Burners, but they work fine.

Maybe, type the drive make and model here to check it's feature set:

I couldn't find any info since it's a Lite-On clone. If I were to do booktyping on a drive that doesn't support booktype, what will happen?

Well nothing, if it doesn't support book-typing, then any attempts to set the booktype in apps like ImgBurn, Decrypter, Nero will just not work. It won't damage the drive to try and set the option or anything. Most likely it does, almost all newer optical drives support book typing. Since it's a Liteon clone, you could find out which drive it's a clone of and then see if it's supported by the Lite-on book type utility. If it's supported, then it will booktype +R's +RW's to DVD-ROM everytime you burn one, without any further interaction from the user. Get it here:

Open Drivers - Free Download LiteOn DVD RW BookType/Bitsetting Utility v1.3.5

If that doesn't work, you can try booktyping it with ImgBurn, here's a booktyping guide for at towards the bottom here: http://www.xtreme-source.com/tutoria...360-games.html
