K so a few months ago i updated my pc because it broke down. I got a new motherboard (D945GCcr Intel), I got new RAM only 1 gig. i kept my processor which is a p4 like 2 GHZ.. mhhh i dont know much about updating it. but i wanna be able to play games with good graphics. DO you guys know of any good graphics cards for cheap, also a good processor for gaming, and how much RAM is needed? If you guys could help me out that would be great.

well the best bang for buck graphics card would be a nvidia 8800GT and for the ram 2GB is a good amount but 1GB will do if you stick to running XP.
But as for the processor i believe that board can only take up to a duel core CPU so unless you want to get a new board as well then any one of the Pentium D processor will do.

that video card is a little bit too expensive for me right now. If i was to spend 300 dlls i would rather get an xbox 360. i was reading somewhere that i could buy one card and later get a second one when it is cheaper. any ides on that? or would you recommend just getting an xbox?? i have never played games on a pc, can anyone tell me what the difference is between that and an xbox360? like graphics, gameplay? how is it playing on the keyboard?

The PC is always better, if you rig it right. There are games that console just cant handle, for example Crysis. Graphic on that game with the 8800GTX is so amazing, sadly, it barely gets 36fps. Another thing is that with the PC you can anti-alias, 16x is the max, which mean, no boxy shoulders, it will be super smooth and realistic. But the price for something that good, well, its probably the cost of 3 xbox 360

Well i am not a big gamer at all so i dont need anything like that. but i also do not want really slow and bad graphics in the gameplay. but anything decent will do. now with that said, can i get something with decent graphics and decent gameplay for about 100-200 dollars??

For something along that line, get an ATI 1600. Those are some good graphic cards. Or something like geforce 7200 or higher. Those card are cheaper than $200

would you also reccomend for me to get another gig of RAM? or maybe a faster processor?
what do you guys think about the XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX Video Card for $100 or the EVGA GeForce 8600 GT for $100 as well or the BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC for $150??? |

also, can i mix and match sticks of ram? for example a crucial and consair??

It's best to match them exactly in terms of clock speed and manufacturer, less chance of having RAM-related issues down the road. Crucial makes pretty decent quality RAM at good prices.
