Best bet, is that its sensor has gone back. I go thru printers like crazy cause I print about 300 pages a day. Its nothing bad, it just happens. Just like car and milage.

Yeah that may well be the case. I did a bit more digging and found the hp page which deals with the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple more times, opened the rear access bay and cleaned the rubber rollers, cleaned the contact points on the color ink cartridge with a cotton swab, and used the clean cartridge utility that's packaged with the hp software. Now it will print in black and white, but color just produces a blank page. The color ink cartridge has never been replaced in 3 years, I always print from the black cartridge, none of my professors ever cared. So it might be a sensor issue or it may just be the color cartridge is shot. I almost never print in color, so I'm not too worried. It's not worth spending $40 on something I'll never use just to test if it works.
