so i just got a new monitor, its an acer al2216w. its awesome, it kicks *** but for some reason my pc wont let me play dvds... i was able to play dvds b4 i got this monitor. it tells me to lower my resolution to play a dvd. when i lower the resolution it tells me the same thing. any ideas on how to fix?? t

Could be a driver issue. Go to start-->run-->and type "msinfo32" minus the quotes. Hit enter. Expand the file tree and go to components-->display. Under the display menu, you will find all the relevant data for your GPU and drivers. From there you should get an idea what chipset and video card/onboard video you have. Google the relevant information and try updating the driver to the most recent version.
