Socket 775 pins driving you mad?

Then try these: Thermalright LGA775 Bolt-Thru-Kit

My God, I hate the 775 push pins. I got a new Arctic Freezer Pro 7, totally buggered the install, and in attempt to fix it I tried using the pins from my old heatsink and buggered them too! So I did some googling and came across the Themalright LGA 775 bolt through kit. It seems to work real well so far. It's under $10, easy to install, and there are no push pins! Totally worthwhile imo, I will use them for any PC I build in the future, those push pins are horrible, I don't care what anyone says!

lol, I foreseen this already. I can handle push pins, but still prefer to screw it down with the bracket. The only thing I hate, is when I upgrade the CPU, thus I must upgrade the cpu cooling fan too. I usually just get the push pin, cause alot of times. I dont want to extract the motherboard and everything out just to put the bracket. But.... BRACKET FTW

Amen brother, took me like 15 minutes to install it. Yeah it sucked having to take the mobo out of the case, but it is a small price to pay for not having to deal with the push pins. Backplate for now and always, that is the only thing I can really complain about with Intel... and they used the same design for Nehalem. The screws are in tight and a lot easier to deal with then the push pins. Plus if I want to change my HSF, no problem, no fear anymore.

That's why I haven't been on (and a crazy first full week as a case manager), my PC was without a HSF.

Ah well, I'm back and at 3.25Ghz, idling cooler than my old HSF at 3.0.
