Does the original disc that you're copying work? What media are you using?

I know it's not an original...still, does the one you're copying work?

16X media can cause issues...what is the media code/brand?

What's the Media ID of the discs, sounds like a cheap media problem. Because one game works on that media, doesn't mean anything. Cheap media doesn't fail with every game, it fails with certain games, there's no real pattern to it- other than coasters and headaches.

91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: DVD Identifier - Your DVD, HD DVD & Blu-ray Companion
Compare the Media ID to this link: digitalFAQ.com | Blank DVD Media Quality Guide

I saw some real mixed reviews on that media. Some say crap and some say good. Might want to try higher quality, like Verbatim or TY's and see what the outcome is from there.

This is what I would do.

1) Try burning the stuff at 8x instead if they are 16x discs.. and/or use nero to burn the image instead of IMGburn as I think it gives a better burn IMO.

2) Get 8x discs instead.. a lot of people have problems with 16x discs even from good manufacturers, which I think is more to do with the PS2 being picky than anything else really... I use 16x discs for the xbox and have no probs at all with them, yet on the PS2 they can be hit or miss. So best to stick with 8x discs for the PS2 really unless you don't mind having coasters every now and then.

3) You're trying to backup a backup I believe... is there something wrong with the first backup that makes you want to burn another one? if the first 2 suggestions don't work for you, then I'd suggest getting hold of the original and starting from scratch.. maybe there's something about the backup you have that is amiss somewhere.

Anyway, hope one of them works for you... let us know how you get on please
