Dust

Alright. This should be an easy quick question for you guys. So in the old fatties the game discs used to get all dusty and leave marks in the shape of tray. It was dust of course. MY question is how does that happen in the slim model ps2's when the disc is like sitting on nothing but the center spindle. I have these perfect 360 rings of dust on my originals and backups after I play or leave in unit for several days. God of War 2 has them all over place. It's not scratches since they wipe off. Is there some sort of charge that attracts the dust into these perfect thin circles? I've been curious about this for a while.

I'm not really sure, I'd say as long as it wipes right off, just don't worry about it. Obviously if there's dust in the PS2 and on the games, there's dust in the room. I just maintainence my game systems every year or so, keeps em in working order. If you notice games taking forever to boot or laggy performance, cleaning the laser with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol is a quick way to fix it.
