Problems Modding my PS2

Well I have a PS2 that i have had problems modding. I have the DMS4 EZI SE Lite and i installed it EXACTLY like is shows and i do mean exactly. i used the 2 test panels that i have and for some reason they both say two different things some are green and some are red.i don't know whats up. BUT i can start my system and boot a game but the problem is it shows a black screen for about 2 mins and then goes back to the browser with it showing that there is a disk. I have no friggen clue whats up. I am able to disable the DMS4 by pressing the square button but it doesn't play games even if i do that.

Another thing i want to know is if you have to install that flash BIOS thingy cuz i DL it from the DMS website and i burned it to a CD but i don't think i burned it right. can someone tell me step by step how to do that?

Me and my brother actually spent this last weekend with the same mod trying to install it but it was a no go for us either. With what I have read when searching that MOD chip has had a lot of problems in the past. Even the testing boards where manufactured wrong.

We did everything that was recommended. Cleaned oxidation off chips. We would get both red and green leds lite up when hooking up the testing board. Not 1 or the other both of them would light up. The only thing that even seemed to be hooked up correctly and a green light was the eject button part of the MOD.

Wish I could be of more help but like I said we could not get his DMS4 to work on his PS2 either.

You do need to flash it with Toxic Bios. The first thing I'd do is test originals. If they don't work, then it's probably something with the connection of the DSP clips. These things are just a quick way to destroy your PS2, nothing more. Davbere calls these things the EZ-die chips, because 90% of installs fail or butcher the PS2. If you can't get any games to boot period, carefully uninstall the chip and make sure your PS2 still works. If you're fortunate enough to still have a working PS2, then send the chip back, claim it was defective or something, and use the money to send it TeamModders v2 :: The ultimate modding forums!

Davbere does most of their PS2 mods, teammodders does excellent work as well. They've modded a ton of people's PS2's on this site, including my own, all with great results. For the price difference between the DMS EZI chips and DMS 4 Pro SE, you can pay a pro to solder anyway. A DMS 4 Pro SE+shipping+install will run you about $100.

With v12's you'll need a laser fix to keep it from burning out. V13's and later don't need a laser fix. Burning a flash CD is simple, just download ToxicBios, unzip, load the cue file into ImgBurn and burn it to disc at 12x or 16x.

Use that guide, same exact process with Nero.

I'm not really sure on the clips, never installed one firsthand. This might help.
