What method are you using to play the backups or games? If you are using swap magic, you can select TV mode. If you are using a modchip, like DMS or Matrix Infinity, you can set the TV in their control menu. But if you are using a cheap modchip like Duo2SE or ect, get a copy of Swap Magic, and load it, then select TV mode, then play your game.

I've never heard of NTSC playing in black and white before??

I don't even change the region select on my PS2 (I'm using PAL PS2 with swap magic 3.6) and there's no problems other than it being a bit off centre sometimes... it's more likely to be a problem with the TV you're trying to play it on not accepting 60hz or something maybe??

Try what Kam said, select NTSC from the swap magic menu before loading in the game.... and if still no luck.. try it on another TV if you can.

Yeah I'm sure his TV just doesn't support NTSC. If you have Swap Magic or one of the chips mentioned try the suggestions in the above posts. If not, try patching the game to PAL.

That's the source code for the app, but it also comes with the app. It's the NTSC2PALypatch.exe file.

Thank you guys,
actually i have an Old PAL TV and it doesn't support NTSC.
also I didn't even use any mod chip. I guess the PS2 had an inbuilt ModChip, since it plays backup DVDs.
I don't know about theModChip I have. Also where i live In India, there aren't good PS2 facilities.
I would also like to know about SwapMagic!
What is it. if it is a software, can i download it and write it?

If copied/backup games play on your PS2 then it already has a modchip..

If your TV doesn't support 60Hz, the best thing you could try is to patch it to PAL as lord sesshomaru said above.. or yes you could get a backup version of swap magic and load that in before the game and select NTSC as the video mode, it might work, but I'm not sure as your TV doesn't support 60Hz. either that or get another TV, or maybe a signal switcher box or something.. not sure if that would work in your situation or not either, sorry.. but good luck with it and let us know how you get on with some of the things we've suggested

MY TV doesn't support 60Hz, coz I have played the Game Black and when I selected 50Hz it worked in colour, but didn't work in 60 Hz.
