PS2 Online

I am assuming that a chipped PS2 is not allowed to connect to the servers for online play. I started up the web browser and set up my network and connected. I had to register the network adapter, and I paused for a bit knowing that I was being set up for a fall. When I start a game and choose online play, the network adapter is not recognized. Is there a way to turn the DMS4Pro SE chip off? I can't find the option in the users manual. Or is it too late for me now. Am I banned from their servers?

Any other way to get online pay with the PS2? Is there a Kai out there for Sony??

You can play backup games online. Just that you have to set the DNAs.

You only need to turn the chip off when playing original games online. Aside from that, patch the DNA's with Windip and you should be able to play backups online fine. You need the game's DNA ID which you can get online or with an app called Disc ID Utility which only will work for original games. If you use this app with a backup, it will give you random, useless hexadecimal numbers, the DNA ID's can only be obtained from an original game. The x's for the first four characters of the DNA ID's are hexadecimal, any combination 0-9 or A-F will work, use your imagination. Here's some stuff to get you started.

20. Q. What are DNA's?
A. Any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk
DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover which .img file on the game disc has the checker file.

Yahoo!! It works! Well, I was able to get my network adapter recognized by the server. Now I have to figure out how to navigate and get a game started. But I guess you can only patch and burn, right? I tried playing the patched ISO off the HDD, but that didn't work. Is there a way to play the patched ISO of the HDD?

Nah I don't believe there's any way to play games online off the HD. That was awhile ago, might wanna check around PS2HD.com and see if anything has changed.
