so when i swap discs (swap magic and game) and then i press square it will load then go to a black screen then it will just stay there.. i burned 2 games so far and it has happened, i dont know what to do im using Sony DvD+R and when i burned em (i use imgburn) it was at 2x. please help me!

Few questions for ya:

1. Do your originals load fine?
2. What is the speed of your discs? 8X have the best results according to most.
3. What games are they?
4. Have you tried -R or just +R? Some machines prefer -R.

1. Yes Original Copies work.
2. I used at 2x but i was thinking of 4x.
3. Nba 2k7 and Bleach Blade Battlers (i borrowed the bleach game from my friend)
4. I only tried the DVD+R

Try burning faster (around 4x or 8x), and try different blank DVD+/-R's. It's possible your PS2 just does not like +R or Sony media. Try some -R's, and try different brands. If at all possible, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim's, and Riteks are the way to go. You can find large tubs of Verbatim at places like Sam's Club. It's probably best to purchase a small pack of them, to make sure Verbatim media works in your PS2.
