What's the Media ID of the discs you are using? I believe this game caused a lot of problems for people with Swap Magic, perhaps some of our Swap Magic users can assist you in that area.

That very likely could be the problem. Crap media will work with some games, in the long run, it will shorten the life of your PS2 laser and cause many more coasters than quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. I recommend getting some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DVD media and trying it out. The Tuff Disc brand is CMC Mag, and CMC Mag is terrible. If anything, you could try burning the game at 8x, but I highly recommend getting some quality media from sites like Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

Well... I've given my suggestion, most likely it's because of the Tuff Disc (CMC Mag) discs. I know your other games work, but this is how crap media works. You will get by with it for awhile, but then a game comes along that will not work. You say please help, but don't try out quality media, so there's no way to verify that isn't the problem. Most likely it is.

What's the Media ID of the Datawrite discs? It's probably CMC Mag. Most Datawrites I've come across are CMC Mag. If they are CMC Mag, it's the same exact dyes which are failing with Scarface.

You can do the usual stuff... make sure your drives are in DMA mode, your firmware is up to date, check the ASPI status. You can check for firmware updates through ImgBurn/DVD Decrypter under tools-->drive-->check for firmware updates.

To check whether your drives are in DMA mode, use this guide: Enable DMA mode in Windows XP

DMA mode only applies to IDE drives, not SATA.

To check your ASPI status, you can use Nero InfoTool, get it here: Nero – Support - Downloads - Info & Loggingtools

Just check the ASPI tab.
