Which NBA? I haven't played Live in years. I play 2K8 on 360 a lot. Me and my friend have a franchise going in our second year with the Bobcats. Our team is pretty good, we have Emeka Okeafor, J Rich, Ray Felton, we traded for Keith Bogut, Acie Law, Charlie Villanueva, and JJ Redick. Add to that a rookie center named Andrews and our team is pretty good. Mostly it's pick and roll and lockdown D, the damn computer AI is annoying, they adjust to stuff pretty quick. We play on All Star difficulty, which is moderately challenging. I think the game is definitely worth buying, the franchise mode is outstanding, better than any sports game I've played on PS3/360/Wii. The graphics are pretty sweet at 720p, the 360 is night and day difference on a HDTV over SD. Games look amazing at 720p. I'm sure they look even better on 1080.

There is some "cheese" factor which creeps in, like a sudden surge of missed layups after building a 10+ point lead, but all-in-all, the gameplay is excellent. It is frustrating at times, but I'm full on addicted to the NBA 2K series, Live is a joke imo. I wish the 2K football series was still around, Madden sucks nowadays.

I agree

that madden sucks this year.

Im talking about the Sonys first party NBA game which is on PS3. I've played live and 2k on 360 and I think both of those are good games with 2k being better. Live controls are wonky and the animations are still off. the best game is 2k I have a rockets custom dynasty going on and IM 3-5 I havent even touched lives dynasty yet. but I think the sonys NBA series is way behing in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Oh yeah, I've only played the NBA series at Wal-Mart on the demo, and it didn't really impress me. The gameplay was weak, and graphics didn't really impress me. From everything I've read, the franchise mode and gameplay is a far cry from the 2K series. 2K is awesome, the game play is really good. There are still some annoyances, on the default settings you just miss too many layups and close shots, NBA players don't miss layups very often. So we tweaked the settings to make more close shots go in, it makes the gameplay experience more rewarding and less cheesy. It only takes a slight adjustment on the team sliders, increases of 5 or 10 will have huge effects on the gameplay.

One thing that's annoying is the computer can sit in the lane for 10 secs and never get a 3 in the key call. It's also overly sensitive with goal tending and offensive interference. There are several times where the ball was clearly off the cylinder for a defensive rebound and the game calls goal tending. The same is true with offensive rebounds and basket interference. They are minor things, overall the game is highly addictive and fun to play with friends.
