Tales of Phantasia (PSX Version) English Translation Patch Released!

I was surfing, and shocked to see a translation patch for the PSX version of Tales of Phantasia was released! Tales of Phantasia for PSX is a remake of the classic SNES role-playing game. The original version was never released in the U.S., but was translated to English thanks to DeJap, a game translation group. The PSX version is widely regarded as the best version of Tales of Phantasia on any system, and until now was only available in Japanese. Now, there is a 100% full translation patch for the game. Cut scenes and skits contain English subtitles, the rest of the game has been 100% translated to English. The patch works, I tried it out and booted it on PCSXbox, a PSX emulator for Xbox 1. It worked perfectly and the English translation seems very well done. I'm sure it will work great on PSX emulators for PC as well. The patch download comes with instructions and is very easy to use. You will of course require the Japanese version of Tales of Phantasia in bin or img format for the patch to work. I recommend bin/cue images, most emulators will load them fine. Get the patch here:

Not sure how to create an image (bin) file for your PSX games? Check here: How to Backup PSX/PS2 CD-ROM Games

Those of you with emulation capabilities on, Xbox, PSP, PC, or a modified PSX or PS2, check out Tales of Phantasia. The battle system is interactive and very reminiscent of adventure games. It is a classic on any system, and the PSX incarnation is the best yet.
