Well generally Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DVD's are the way to go. As far as DVD+R vs DVD-R, it really depends what format your PS2 reads better. Newer PS2's tend to work better with DVD+R's, older ones tend to work better with DVD-R's. I burned over 300 PS2 games on Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim Media and almost never had a coaster because of the media.

I recommend burning at 8x on 8x or 16x Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim discs. Burning at 8x on low quality media will probably not produce favorable results.

You can get Taiyo Yuden media cheap at http:/www.newegg.com DVD-R,DVD R Media,DVDR Blank Media,DVD R,DVD+R,Dual Layer,Double Layer,Printable DVD,DVD Case,Duplicator,USB Flash Memory,Ink Cartridges

I agree, and with the low price of DVD's these days there is really no reason to settle for "iffy" media.

You can get Verbatims for cheap at places like Sam's Club. They used to sell 100 spindles of Verbatim for $36 or so.

Make sure that the DVDs you buy aren't fake, meaning that they have a Media Code that is 1st class certified.
