my 4 gig ms :-(

Hi guy's

question, has anyone had any problems similar to mine, I ordered a while ago now, a 4gig Sony memory stick, from an online, Hong Kong store, anyhow to cut a long story short i bought a few items from the store,at first
I was impressed however, after a while trying to get one of the items working proved difficult and i gave up, out of frustration of following diagrams, this item was a dragon plus memory card expander, after many tries, I sent an email to the company, however all they wanted me to do was to send the item back to them, which means waiting another two weeks or so, bugger that, it took me two weeks to receive my order??

Any way it is my 4gig memory card that is really bothering me now, i cannot format it at all, i have tried to format it on the PSP, and also on the PS3 and even my PC, but i am getting nowhere at all?

I keep getting the error : (80018006) this is the error code, on PSP
and : (80030515) error code from the PS3 :chef:

I am hoping that someone has experience or a little knowledge about this problem, another good point to mention is that i also tried this 4 gig card in my Sony Ericsson P900, and it came up with Disk D CORRUPT

And yes, it is a Sandisk 4.0 GB Memory stick pro duo Magicgate

It's been my experience with memory cards that if you can't format it, something is wrong with it. Since you have tried it on multiple devices with no luck, I would say that would be a pretty good confirmation that something is wrong with it. Did you buy this card through an ebay store? I have heard that there are a lot of sellers on ebay that sells counterfeit memory cards. Somehow they are able to take a name brand card apart and put their generic counterparts in place of them. So you buy what you think is a name brand card, but you are actually getting a shoddy generic card which may or may not work very well.

I would contact the seller of your card, and if they want you to send it back, I probably would. Yeah, I know that might mean that it will be gone for a while and may even stand a chance of not seeing it return at all, but on the flip side, they already have your money and you don't have anything that works so I don't think you have much to loose at this point.

Hello Sadalius,

Thanks for the reply, I actually bought the items from this site :Superufo.com - The biggest video game and pc computer wholesaler, distributor, on-line store in Asia

And another thing i forgot to mention is that on this card there are already some pictures, but i cannot delete them off the card, which also indicates a problem, so i will get back in touch with the company, and if i have to send the items back, then that is what i shall do, it is about the principal of the matter?

Take care Sadalius :chef:

Hey

I just thought i would update peeps, regarding this error, i did as i said and have contacted the company in question, but as always, these delicate matters always take time, i decided last night that i would do my own tests to try and find out why the 4GB memory card is not working, i was checking over the card, and i did notice a slight dent/bump in the actual card itself, now all i can think of, is that when this card, and my other have been in place in the psp case, something has pressed onto the card, and hence the reason why it is most probably not working, and at the time this happened i was not aware, however, out of this accident, some progression has come forward, the other item that i purchased, the memory expander, i have finally sorted it out, and i am able to use my SD/MMC cards on my psp, so it is not too much of a problem, now i have four different SD/MMC cards that may be used with my psp, so in other words, i have enough memory without having to worry about my 4GB memory stick pro duo>>> although it is annoying :chef::chef::chef: cheers guys

i have checked the MC in the psp, Ps3, pc, and nothing?? pile of S**T ha ha ha
