ram questions

i have a presario s6300nx with 2 512 slots for ram. slot 1 has the original (pc2700 at 166 mhz). slot 2, which i recently upgraded, has a pc 3200 at 200 mhz. thing is, i didnt really notice a difference in preformance after the upgrade. did i get the wrong ram??? should i notice a difference??? i use a lot of audio apps so i thought it would help a bit but it seems the same. do i have to configure in bios???
thanks for looking. as always, this sight is amazing. by far the best for tech help...

I would check to see what you mobo can use for ram, maybe look it up on the manufacturers webpage and see if it tells you. Some will slow down the faster stick to the speeds of the slower one if set a certain way,but either way...it's always best to match the sticks.

Best to look up the manual and see what needs to be done really.
