You will need the below programs installed for this tutorial.
WinRAR QuickSFV Notepad (to make NFO) Make Torrent 2 This is a guide to help you make a torrent of a movie to be uploaded to a torrent tracker (Public or Private) to share. Step 1: Make a new folder to store all needed files of the torrent. Go to the C: directory and make a new folder to place all needed files into. I will be using Just Friends as an example. So name the folder Just_Friends (Use underscores instead of spaces when typing the name of the folder or files. Linux has trouble with spaces) ![]() ![]() Step 2: Add the movie to the new folder Just_Friends. You want to add an ISO image of the movie into the new folder. I used DVD Decrypter MODE/ISO/READ to make the ISO. (It makes a CUE and ISO file but you only need the ISO) After creating an ISO of the movie drag & drop it into the folder Just_Friends. ![]() Step 3: Adding the ISO image into WinRAR Now we will start making the parts of the torrent. Go to the folder Just_Friends and hover over the Just_Friends.ISO file and right click on your mouse button. A pop up menu will appear with a list of actions. Scroll down the list and choose (Add to archive) in the list. ![]() A window will appear that looks like below… ![]() We will now split the ISO into parts. Choose the following options below in the WinRAR window. Compression method - Store Split to volumes , bytes – 50,000,000 (will make 50MB pieces) Checkmark - Put recovery record Checkmark - Test Archived files Should look like below…. ![]() Now click on OK and WinRAR will split the ISO up into parts. (The amount of parts that WinRAR will make will depend on the size of the ISO) After WinRAR is done the folder should look like below. ![]() After WinRAR is done making the parts of the ISO you can delete the ISO file from the folder leaving all the RAR parts in the folder. Step 4: adding a SFV file to the torrent. (This is a file that can check and see if the torrent has been downloaded correctly and no pieces are corrupt) Go to the Just_Friends folder and highlight all the RAR files that where just created and right click on the mouse button and choose create SFV file in the pop-up menu. ![]() Name the SFV file and click ok and it will create the file. ![]() Once it is done you will have the SFV file in the folder with the other RAR files. ![]() Step 5: Making an NFO (description of torrent) Some will use an NFO creator for this step but I just use NOTEPAD. Open up notepad and make a list of information for downloader’s to see what the file is and contains etc. etc. ![]() Once you get the NFO made save the notepad file (name it Just_Friends) in the Just_Friends folder. It will save as a .txt file so you will need to rename the file to .nfo. So right click on the txt file and choose to rename and type Just_Friends.nfo (windows will give you a warning If you change the extension of this file it could be unusable) Just choose yes and change the file extension to .nfo. Now we have all the parts completed for the torrent. The Just_Friends folder should look like the picture below. ![]() Step 5: Making the torrent. It is time to make the torrent with Make Torrent 2. If you are running Windows XP you will need to run the program in Win98 compatibility. To do this do the below steps. Right click on the Make Torrent 2 Icon and choose properties in the pop-up menu. Now choose the Compatibility Tab. Put a check in the box next to run this program in compatibility mode. Pull the drop down menu down and choose Win98/ME. Then click Apply and ok. ![]() Step 1: Now start Make Torrent 2 and choose the Classic Tab. ![]() Step 2: Click on Directory and go to the Just_Friends Folder and choose it and click OK. ![]() ![]() Step 3: Type the Trackers URL address in the Tracker option part.(I used www.xtreme-source.com as an example) ![]() Step 4: click on create torrent now. Name the torrent file Just_Friends. Make Torrent 2 will now create the torrent. ![]() Once you are done you will have 1 torrent and 1 folder. ![]() Once you get the torrent created it is always good to load it into your torrent client and make sure it loads correctly before uploading it to the tracker. |
