that it, your hard drive has had it, time for a new one, and to be on the safe side, get a new data cable to, either sata, or ide, just incase

Hi SocomIII

I myself have had my fair share of problematic HDDs in the past, but the error's that you are getting are way over the top, as to any that i have ever had, there are two word's that come to mind?? Rubbish Bin??

Can you not access the dirve at all ?

I doubt if there is any wya to take off the files, that you so want??
? have you got another pc, if so take the originalHDD out of your spare pc, and pop in the one with the error's?? and see if you can access the files that you want from it to the other pc, and then get rid of the drive>>> and pop your other original back in?? If you have another PC that is :-D

I do have another PC after doing what you suggest i could not acces the files got the same error message, but after that i managed to find an utility called GetDataBack from NTFS and after listing about 1 000 000 numbers (lol) it finnally worked and showed me all the files on the drive, it then allowed me to copy them onto my master drive..
I am now going to reformat the drive and see how that goes..
Thanks for the help guys..

had the same error once,I just used a recovery tool and saved the data to another drive and then reformated the HDD that had the error...lasted me another 5 years. It's just lost it's "TOC" so to say that's all.
