DVD-9 to 4.7 DVD+R, using DVD Decrpter,

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a backup of a Dual Layer DVD 9, to a 4.7 DVD+R.

The 3 Programs I will be using are:

1. DVD Decrypter_3.5.4.0 “Everybody’s favorite”
2. DVDFabDecrypter v2.9.8.0
3. DVD Shrink_3.2.1

I like these programs because they are extremely effective and best of all free.

I would prefer to use DVD Decrypter on every DVD I rip to my hard drive, but as a lot of you already know it chokes on more, and more newer disks every week.

This is why I’ve chosen to include DVD FabDecrypter in this tutorial, and in my Program Files.

This tutorial is divided into 3 sections. Below I will explain each section’s illustrations in order:

1. The DVD Decrypter section is using the movie “Envy”.

2. The DVD FABDecrypter section uses the movie “The Davinci Code”.

“The Davinci Code is a good example of a DVD that DVD Decrypter chokes on.”

3. The DVD Shrink section I will continue with the movie “Envy”, and will commence burning our finished .iso image to disk with DVD Decrypter.

Allright lets begin……

SECTION 1:

Insert your disk into your DVD ROM and then open My Computer. Then right click the Drive and select Decrypt using DVD Decrypter as seen below.

At this point DVD Decrypter will open. Make sure you select Mode/File as seen below.

Next hit the Decrypt button at the bottom left of the screen, Wait about 15 minutes for it to rip to your hard drive and then you’re done with the disk.

DVD Decrypter will place you movies files at the root of C:\ENVY_US_16X9_4X3/ in most cases.

SECTION 2:

Open DVD Fab Decrypter and select the source drive with the DVD you want to backup. Then, Click Start.

Next you’ll then see this window pop up, if you’re sure click yes or hit enter.

Next all you have to do is wait for it to rip the DVD to your hard drive, as seen below. Some disks take considerably longer than others.

After it completes, close DVD Fab Decrypter.

Next, I recommend renaming the folder “DVD” to the name of your Movie, in this Case, “The Davinci Code”.
I think you’re less likely to get confused while processing multiple DVD’s if you get in the habit of doing this.

“BEFORE”

“AFTER”

SECTION 3:

After you’re done Ripping your DVD’s entire contents to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter, or DVD Fab Decrypter. Open DVD Shrink 3.2 and click open files.

Browse for your movie’s file folder and click OK.

It will then quickly analyze your film, as seen below.

Then deselect all the audio streams and subtitles you don’t need by unclicking the boxes below, to reduce compression.

“BEFORE”

“AFTER”

Next click Backup and set your quality settings like this, it takes longer, but definitely worth the wait.

Next select your target device, I don’t have Nero installed right now cause; I can’t find the disk?

This is very important!!!! Save as an “iso image file”, or save as an “iso image file and burn with DVD Decrypter”.

Don’t choose Nero, because if your burner isn’t available or is in use, it will abort and you will loose everything.
It only has to happen to you once for you to learn. Trust me, that’s why I like iso’s so much.

Click OK, and go to sleep, watch a movie or whatever. Sometimes it takes about 2 hours or longer to perform deep analysis, and recode.
Sometimes I process up to 6 movies at once, and when I wake up I’ve got 6 iso’s ready to burn. Boom Boom Boom.

Once you have an iso image on your HD you can open it with DVD Decrypter for burning as many times as you want, or even extract it like a zip archive.

Locate the iso image DVD Shrink made, and right click on it and open with DVD Decrypter.

Insert your blank DVD+R and wait for it to read Ready, adjust your write speed to your desired speed, and click the write icon on the bottom left and it will start burning your backup.

While it’s burning you can select the box that says delete image when done or one of the other 2 options if you like.

This Process has served me well, and I hope it will others too.

Not sure. THe only thing I removed was my XBOX guides related to modding. I figured that stuff is illegal no matter what and is a hot topic. As for anything else, I had planned on reviewing and researching with you all when this project is done.
