The purpose of this guide is to show how to create an iso image using ImgBurn's build mode and burn it in write mode. ImgBurn is a freeware program and is a fantastic burning app, the best hands down imo. This guide will show how to create an iso of out different file types and burn it to disc with ImgBurn. This guide is for data files, not DVD Video files.
What's Required 1. ImgBurn 2. A DVD Writer 3. A Blank DVD+/-R 4. Files ready to be backed up Before Starting Open ImgBurn. Tweak ImgBurn's settings to get rid of the annoying prompts. This isn't necessary, but makes the process a bit more streamlined and gets rid of some obnoxious warning dialogues. Go to tools-->settings-->build and set everything according to the pic below. ![]() Guide 1. Open ImgBurn. 2. Select Mode-->Build ![]() 3. Click add files, the second button from the top. Or you can drag and drop files into ImgBurn or click add folder to add an entire folder. ![]() 4. Browse to the files to be added, highlight them, and click open. Ctrl+left click will highlight only specific files, shift+left click can be used to highlight groups of files. Then your files will be added into ImgBurn. ![]() 5. Once your files are open in ImgBurn, you can click the calculator to determine if the iso will fit on a single layer DVD, set it to auto for best results. Pick a name and destination for your iso in the destination box. Save it to the desktop for easy access. ![]() 6. Click write at the bottom left of the program. ![]() 7. The iso will be created. A full-sized DVD-5 (single layer) iso will take about 10 minutes to compile. ![]() 8. Once the iso is finished, you'll get this prompt. ![]() 9. Go to mode-->write ![]() 10. Drag and drop your iso into ImgBurn. Click write. ![]() 11. A full DVD-5 (single layer) image with take 8-15 minutes depending on burn speed. That's it! Now your data files can be backed up for safe keeping.
