Full Sig Tutorial (Basic - No Brushing)

Again, this is just a basic tutorial to help get you started. Once comfortable, you can make numerous changes to get a completely different sig.

Whenever I try to place my render, it always makes it really small, and I cant enlarge it (by dragging the end boxes) cause its gets really blury. Any ideas how to fix this?
Attatch. the size right after I place the render.

I was also wondering, to place a render (so its focused on sam in you splintercell pic) does the rest of the image have to be white?
SO say you have a image of a car in a parking lot, and you want to just have a render of the car, how would you seperate the car from the rest of the image? (Im thinking sit there with the eraser and try to erase all the rest, but that would take a while)

Alright, fixed my first problem. (Cant edit my post tho for some reason)
Bump my second question^^
And can you explain adding text? I dont see where you did it in the tutorial. (I see the area but not how to)

To add text in PS, click the large T icon in the Tools menu. Afterwards you'll have a bunch of options at the top of the program like font, size, color, etc. Type anywhere on the photo and use the mouse to position the text afterwards. Click the green check in the upper right hand corner to add the text.

This is the icon you click in the Tools Window. If you you don't see this menu, Go Window-->Tools and make sure it's checked.

Wow, cant believe I missed that. Thanks.

And also, it still doesnt give me the option to edit my posts, unless I create a topic. (Is it set like that on the forums? And I cant paste things into my post, little agrivating to have to retype things over)

Question about renders/picture: (As in the Sam Fisher example) does the rest of the picture have to be white (since I notices the white part just disapeared and it continued the transparent boxes). Is there an easy way to seperate an object from the surroundings, say a car in a parkinglot (other then manually with the eraser)?

That's ZoneAlarm for sure man. You need to tweak some settings. You probably have scripts blocked or something. I don't know that one, I'm a noob with PS myself. Someone will be along who can help you with that for sure.

Your best bet on a pic with an unwanted background is to use the Magic Wand. Open the pic in PS, click on the Magic Wand tool (from LS's pic - 2nd from top, right side), now click on the background and delete it. Depending on the varieties of color, this might require a lot of deleting!

Once the entire background is all white (you just see the car), hit Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C. Open a new transparent document (size should default to the same size of car pic) and hit Ctrl+V. Then, pull out that trusty Magic Wand again and delete the white from the background. You should now only see the car, with the transparent background. Save it as a .png file and you now have your render.

Now you can place it on your sig!
