Not too sure of what kind of fireball you want, but you can try some of these.

That should get you started.

Not a bad tutorial. Once you have the PS, you should use some filters to distort it. Maybe some grunge brushes to brush over it...set the brushed layers to overlay. Also, a few pixel feather with the lasso tool around it and applying a layer mask will help the render 'mesh' with the bg a bit more

Yeah, I know. It is just a "basic" tut for beginners...but thanks for adding that. Should help some people out.

It's basically so you can make something not 'appear' without erasing it. Or you can put an opacity/strength to the brush so that you can make a gradual 'disappearance' (sorry for the lack of good terms) so that the reander looks like its blended in with the bg...not just stuck in front of the bg. If you wanna mess around with it, its a button on your layers menu that has a white circle with a shaded box around it. Do that and then if you brush white...I think...it will make your layer start to disappear. This method is very useful if you want to have a sig with multiple colors that blend it well.

I should finish my beginners tutorial...I started it about a year ago LMAO. It shows people how to use layer masks, color balance layers, gets people affiliated with all the lil toolbars and some of the menus and what not. If I ever finish it, I'll be sure to post it
