Post Create Electric Graphics

Create Electric Graphics

In this tutorial you will be shown how to make text have an effect like the image below.

STEP 1: Create a new image 400x400 with a transparent background. Rename the layer whatever you'd like.

STEP 2: Select Edit > Fill and choose "black"

STEP 3: Write your text in "white". For this one, I used my nickname.

STEP 4: Select > Rasterize > Type to the layer with the text on it.

STEP 5: Duplicate layer with the name you chose. (Right CLick on the layer and select 'Duplicate Layer')

STEP 6: Hide layer which is the duplicate by clicking on the eye to the left of it in the layer's window.

STEP 7: Click on the text layer that is still visible; select Layer > Merge Visible.

STEP 8: Select Edit > Transform > 90 CW

STEP 9: Select Filter > Stylize > Wind and chose the method "wind" and make the direction "from the right". Press Ctrl + F. Repeat the process but this time select the direction "from the left". Now, your screen should look like this.

Step 10: Select Edit > Transform > 90 CCW. Repeat Step 9, but do not press Ctrl + F.

Now your image should look something like this:

STEP 11: Select Filter > Distort > Ripple

STEP 12: Select Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation then check Colorize

STEP 13: Now unhide the copy of text you made. On a new layer, make the text again but color it black and paste it directly on top of the image.
And then your DONE.

Hello tEChniiQue

I foolowed your little tutorial, and although i became stuck on one or two little points, it is agreat little guide, but as always, all these great little tips are to be used for each individuals benefit and for me, i love just dipping in and out of adobe ophotoshop and learning something new in small steps can always be used as an advantage, but keep the tuorials coming tech you know you are da man cheers m8

@Silver Sony

Thanks man. But I'd be more than willing as others I'm sure to help you in whatever area it was you were stuck with the guide. Besides, others could have the same issue and we could alleviate that. Thanks again.

Yeah one thing Tech, your guides are always very good regarding Photoshop. However, I am a complete and utter noob to it, if you could compose one that just outlines the basic features that people use the most, that'd be great. I know they have tuts like that on other sites. But if you have the time, nothing massive, just how to do the simplest stuff, it'd be appreciated. Nice guide either way.
