What happens, do you get an error message?

Either Image Ready doesn't recognize the avi file, or it didn't convert correctly. I don't use ImageReady to convert my clips, so I'm not positive what that error message is. Try converting it again and see if you have the same issues. If so, PM me and I'll help you out.

I use 123 avi to gif converter. It's a little tricky, but not too bad. I convert the vob file to avi with Winavi. I load the avi file into Windows Movie Maker, trim it down, and save it as a WMV file. For whatever reason, if you save it as an avi file and try to load in into 123 avi to gif converter, it gives an error message. So I convert it back to avi file with WinAvi. Then I load it into 123 avi to gif converter, convert it to gif, and it works no probs. I wrote this tut under the assumption that avi files would import into ImageReady no probs. So if you don't mind, try converting it again and see if you have the same probs. I don't know if this is a common issue, or an isolated one. You can get 123 avi to gif converter here: http://www.bitsoft.net/Products/atg/index.html

i_suck, the avi you tried to open must of been ecnoded with divx, or xvid. ImageReady cant open those, only uncompress avi.

Okay in that case, change the encoder in WinAvi. Kam what encoder do you recommend using to convert vob files to avi in WinAvi?

Hmm will have to experiment and see. If divx/xvid encoders aren't supported by ImageReady, I guess we'll have to go on second hand knowledge for now. I don't have time to try each one and see what works with ImageReady. Anybody reading this that has WinAvi and PhotoShop, give it a try and let us know.
