Unpacking rar files

Ok, there couldn't be anything simpler.. you've got a movie/game etc in RAR files and are wondering how you go about getting the actual files to burn/play.

1. Open up the folder where the RAR files are kept.

2. Click the right mouse button on any of the rar files and select extract files

NOTE - In some cases you have to select the lowest numbered RAR file eg. part01.rar/r00 or rar in some cases. If it doesn't work it'll usually tell you why.

3. A window will pop-up and ask you where you want to save the resulting file(s), by default it'll usually be in a new folder in the same folder as your RAR files with the name of the file included.. eg, godfather. You can set that to any dewstination and name you like.. then click OK and it will unpack the file(s) etc to that destination.

4. When complete, you should now have the file(s) you require.

If you end up with 1 RAR file instead of a game ISO, see this thread HERE about dis-associating ISO files with winrar. If you ended up with lots more RAR files, then you need to unpack the RAR files again. If you ended up with the game files instead of an ISO then you probably unpacked the ISO file thinking it was another RAR file, see above link about dis-associating ISO files with winrar.. and then look for a single file in a folder near where your original RAR files you downloaded were/are kept of around 1.5 - 4.3GB on average if it was supposed to be a game ISO.
