v12-15 PSTwo SlimLine Laser Patch

Hello, I love the guide! It has every thing I wanted to know about PS2 burning! Excellent quality. I do have one question tho. You say that you need to use a laser patch for v.12 PSTwo SlimLine because the laser burns out way to quickly. How much longer will the laser last with the patch? Also, I am looking into buying a v.14 PS2. Do I need to patch the laser on a v.14 PS2, or did they fix the laser problem? ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the awesome guide!

It's not a patch, it's a fix to keep the laser from burning out. Only v9,10,12 PS2's need a laser fix, v.14's do not.

Hey, please help!!!

Can you play an extra copy of dragon questVIII by putting the original one in the dvd drive and just copy all of the files to the harddrve, and then burn it onto another dvdr disk?
When I copy the original version, I am able to copy all the files in the disk except "data" Please HELP me find out how to copy it to my hd!

You mean your using isobuster to take files from the game??? That wont work

1.Google DVD Decrypter

2.Open up Decrypter, put in the original, then go to mode-iso-read

3.After ripping is done, go to mode-iso-write, pick the .mds file or the iso, change the burning speed to 4x or whatever you feel is suitable then burn.

4.Done, now you have a working backup!

Please just read the first couple questions in this FAQ, and check the stickied topics in the PS2 tutorials section.
