How to do Remote Play with a PSP.

What is remote play?
It allows you to link the PSP and PS3 together and control the PS3 over the PSP. You can basically walk around the house with your PSP and control the PS3. All functions should work over the Remote Play, but only "SOME" games work with it. Such as Lair.

First you will need to hook the PSP to the PS3 via USB cable, and set the PSP to USB Connection.

Now on the PS3 go to Settings, and Remote Play Settings, and Register Device. It will detect the PSP and create a network profile on the PSP, so you can link to the PS3 via Wifi. Once that is done, go to the PS3 XMB, and go to Network, and select Remote Play.

Now back to the PSP, go to Network, and Remote Play. It will as to select a connection type, Internet or Via Network. Select Network, then Select the PS3 from the list.

Now you should be connected to the PS3, and see the PS3 XMB on the PSP.

You can do this via internet, away from home, but as long your PS3 is in Remote Play mode. I did this at Starbuck and it was cool

Nice guide Kam. That was one of the first things I did when I got my PS3. Only thing was, for about 30 minutes I tried to do it w/o use of a USB cable. Then it hit me "where was this then" LMAO.

Its fun, but needs more work into the remote play. The delay of a split second bothers me.

Soon it will, Sony announce at the TGS (Tokyo Gaming Show) it can link up the the PS3 in much more ways, and use the PS3 as a hub. Some new features it will pick up, is turning on and off the PS3 remotely and a few extra other things. Think it as a remote, with a 3 inch LCD. Theres nothing better than streaming music/video from the PS3 30 feet away while doing something that is pointless like drilling holes in a HDD. I will post a picture of the remote play in action while playing a game. But first Breakfast.
