Dark_Alex has done it again: Since I cant put it any better myself, take a looks at the readme from is "Custom Firmware - the proof of concept ."

"The features of this custom firmware - proof of concept are:

- Execution of normal pbp's (1.00 ones, no-kxploited)
- Posibility of hiding corrupt icons. (note: by default it's not enabled, look at the file /PSP/SYSTEM/config.txt to see how to enable it)
- Posibility of skipping the SCE logo at the startup. (and in this way avoid the annoying auto-execution of the UMD). Like the previous one, this is not enabled by default.
- "Recovery mode:". If you keep R pressed while starting the psp, it will enter in "Recovery mode".
Recovery mode is not more than a simple application that will let you to use the usb, and execute a program under ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP, that could be, for example, a sony updater or the 1.50 -> 1.00 downdater.

This would allow to recover potential bricks caused by the writing of bad fonts/videos/sounds... to the flash.
(Note that this wouldn't allow to recover critical things like the overwriting of critical prx's)

- Autoexecution of a program at the startup. See the configuration file at /PSP/SYSTEM/config.txt to see how to use it."

As you can tell, this is an awesome step forward for the psp community, and this was done by simply flashing a singel prx. Cant wait to see what is in store for us when 1.00 firmware is fully fleshed out.

Simly put Copy the PSP folder to the root of your memstick.
Launch the program "Custom Firmware - The proof of concept"

Be warned, like anything else that flashes memory, there is a chance of bricking you psp.

Im about to give it a go, my UMD drive is about to give out, and this will make it possible for me not needing to open my drvie everytime I turn of my psp. Think about it though, no more corrupt icons, no more annoying startup sequence, autoexectution of devhook. Awesome!:bash:

LMAO, thanks P. But since it only flashes a single prx, I can always get another 1.5 eboot and get everything back to how it was before the mod. That made me laugh


EDIT - Just installed it, works awesome. First thing i did was change the value on skiplogo to true and as advertised, no more opening the UMD drive!! Also, all the corrupt data icons that SEIsPSPTOOL couldnt fix are gone also. Ill keep playing with it, let me know if anybody has question

I would, its as simple as placing the folder in your root then running the flahser off your mem sitck. After that, just edit the .txt to whatver you want. Also, ppl are also coming out with mods right now, such as a 333/333/166 ocerclcok and auto usb, so the possibilites and limitless.
