There have been allot of users asking how to downgrade their PSP back to 3.71 M33-4 after updating it to a newer custom firmware. This guide will walk you through the process of how to do this whatever the reason may be.
Things you will need... Hellcat's Recovery Flasher v1.32 Sony OFW 3.71 which you can get HERE. Once you have downloaded all above files then we are ready to start the process. 1) Extract the Recovery folder from the 23692_rflash132 RAR archive (no other files/folders are needed). 2) Extract the 3.71 OFW Eboot and rename the EBOOT.PBP to 371.PBP 4) Drag 371.PBP to the recovery folder. 5) Drag the Recovery folder to the /PSP/GAME folder directory. So you would have a directory of ms0://PSP/GAME/RECOVERY. Inside the Recovery folder should be EBOOT.PBP and 371.PBP 6) Turn off the PSP (hold power button in the up position till it turns off). Now hold the R shoulder button down while turning the PSP on. This will bring up the recovery menu. When the recovery menu comes up go to RUN PROGRAM AT /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP This will launch Hellcat's Recovery Flasher. 7) You will first get a warning screen with a few options. (You can quiet/Accept/Accept and not show warning screen again). Choose the option you want. 8) You now have the option to flash the PSP to 3.71 M33-4 (there is an option for 4.01 M33 but I omitted this firmware since this is a CFW downgrader guide). Select 3.71 M33 to flash. 9) You now have a choice to reset settings or keep previous settings. After you have select whether you want to reset or keep settings it will then begin to flash the firmware. When it is done it will tell you to shut down. After you shut down you can now turn on the PSP and use as normal (you might have to enter your settings again or you could get the BSOD if so just press O and it will restart and you will then need to re-enter settings).
